who in this thread overrated Winky? Don't get mad because some think Winky would win, it's not like they said that he's better in their primes they just had a different opinion then you. Some felt Hopkins would win and that's fine as well,I've seen some of the fighter's you follow/defend/support and if Winky's overrated then what are they?

      they are better then winky.

honestly, the reason i keep posting that he's over-rated -besides the fact that he is- nobody can tell me why they like to see him fight and/or point to another fighter that they follow whom is also a good boxer as winky. I think winky gained a lot of fans when he beat mosley and trinidad and had his war with vargas, but besides those fights noboday can really give a clear honest opinion on why they follow winky and if they respect him so much as a boxer, with other boxer do you respect or is he the only boxer that you respect? but if he is the only boxer that you respect, then it goes back to my point that many jumped on the bandwagon when he beat mosley trinidad and had his war with vargas. Ain't nothing wrong with that, but at least give some clear resons.

all i see is winky can box, winky has good defence. wheres the threads on santos, caldron, martin castillo and so on.

i wish i still had his fight when he fought harry simon, i dare anybody try to get to the last round of that fight, or another, him versus frazier. Which i was recording at the time, cause i knew the significant of him winning the world title after all these years, but i couldn't cause he was too damn borring.

Winky is like Clearnce "Bones" Adams in a way -differnt styles- they both were boxing for many, many years, till finally they won a world title and gained some respect. But with winky i see it going over board.

if he beats taylor which he won't, but if he does then he deserves the recognition many of you give him. but till then....

If this is judging before the first Hopkins/Taylor fight, then I would have to look at Hopkins fight against Eastman. In that fight, he wasn't real active as far as throwing goes and kept his distance most of the fight. Didn't really throw any combinations or didn't throw many and Winky isn't really a fighter that your going to defeat one punch at a time. I like Hopkins more, but Winky wins this by decision.

          I think that's very true.
