At 126 Loma would have schooled Rigo even easier

Too bad Rigo ducked the match at 126 back in the day

In this fight, even as the bigger man, Loma was still the faster man with the superior footwork.

Poor Rigo couldn't deal with Loma's speed, accuracy and angles at all, he was hitting nothing but air and had to resort to his inner Ward and try dirty tactics like ducking below the waist and clinching like a ***** all night, too bad he ain't Ward or Floydette, so the ref wasn't blatantly on his side/pocket

once Rigo got that point deduction and realized he was outclassed and couldn't get away with dirty tactics either, he took the coward's way out and quit like punk

Size didn't play a factor on this fight, Loma won this fight based on his superior skills, workrate and speed

at 126 Loma would have been even faster

at 126 Loma would have schooled and humilliated Rigo even easier

    agree? y/n

Maybe not easier but it would have been a similar result. It reminded me of Mayweather-Marquez, where even if they were the same size the same outcome was inevitable.

After seeing this fight between them it's obvious to me that Loma is a much better and bolder fighter than Rigo ever was on his best day. Loma is just much better than Rigo end of story. He is faster, braver, smarter, more skilled and tougher.

That 126 argument is not even valid. Rigo weighed in at 128.5 and Loma at 129. That’s a 2.5-3 pound difference from 126. After rehydration, their fight weights would have been maybe 2 pounds lighter than what they were at last night. Would have made zero difference, but if Rigo had accepted back then, he would have made 750K instead of 400K... Ah well...

Loma refused this fight years ago and the rehydration clause. lol. ESPN even admitted that Roc put a gap on Loma’s gain for fight night! Pedro Díaz would’ve made sure Loma would be no more than 134 had it been a catch but the Lomachenkos pusssied out. At 130lb Loma hits 141... no different than how a smaller Sosa was fighting at such weight before.

It’s funnier how Rigo givers Loma fans closure as he didn’t unify against other champs in either division and doesn’t dare to be great. A Lightweight Gold medalist needs a Bantanweight Gold Medalist.. Loma was already ranked higher what was there to prove? But of course Rigo fighting at 130 was so practical...

Loma still would've outweighed him by 7 or 8 pounds on fight night. Also, Rigo is too inactive and cautious. Loma is tough to counter because of his movement and angles. Can't say if it would've been "easier" but Loma would've won decisively. My two cents.

The mistake you all are making is that you're judging all this on 6 rounds. Hardly definitive. Would Rigo have figured out the counter in time? Who knows now? And it's not like Loma was really beating him up in there. All he really had was an excellent Jab.

Probably would have won him the fight, but who knows what could have happened in the last 6 rounds.
