Comments Thread For: Arum: Crawford at Level of Leonard, Hagler; Lomachenko Unique

The stage is set for one of the most anticipated boxing matches in years. Vasyl Lomachenko and Guillermo Rigondeaux headline later tonight at the Madison Square Garden Theater in Manhattan, New York. Negotiations for a super-fight between the two-time Olympic gold medalists had been on and off for years but a number of reasons prevented the matchup to come together.

Who is his best win, Gamboa?

He is good, but far away odd Hagler or Leonard level. Thurman is much more proven than Crawford.

Maybe he means like in potential? Like one day, he could be on the level of those guys? I hope. I'm from Omaha, born and raised, so I'm a little biased, and even I can't say he's on that level. That is correct, Thurman, and a host of other guys are more proven.

I'm a big fan of Crawford, but he doesn't have a Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns, or a Marvin Hagler, which could give him the rise to the level of Ray Leonard! Not even wins over Thurman and Spence Jr. could give him that push! Loma and Mikey are too small, Pacquiao and Mayweather are too old, and Canelo and GGG, are too big!

I’m big on Spence Crawford but let them have a career before you compare them to Top 10 all time greats in their division please

Come on....I get that it's Arum's job to promote, but can we bring it back to reality? Crawford has a nice record, but has no legends on his resume. Not one.

Thurman barely beat porter, garcia and a washed up robert guerrero and now he's more proven than Crawford? Crawford cleaned out all the top fighters at 135 and 140 including gamboa, ricky burns, ray beltran, postol, and indongo. Thurman was getting worked over at points against diego chaves and got hurt bad with a body shot by callazo. Crawford completely dominated all the top guys he faced which is the difference between a great fighter like thurman and an elite future all time great like Crawford. Crawford would wipe the floor with thurman if they ever fought but it sounds like thurman is scared

I have to agree with arum, what Crawford is doing is nothing short of extraordinary and loma might possibly be the best fighter ever. Im glad I get to witness 2 all time greats in their primes
