Well this is good, and also a step in the right direction for both of these fighters. Ortiz is going to get back to fighting quality competition fighters,.... such as Wilder regardless of what opinions are felt of him. And Wilder will fight a quality opponent in Ortiz and possibly climb himself higher into contention for a possible showdown bout with AJ. I think it’s safe to say that Wilder now realizes all his banter and $#ittalk about fighting AJ immediately will never happen the way he wants things to play out, and the best way for him to get that fight as well as a more “favorable” split in the purse, is to go out and beat all othe contenders/champs and leave no doubts at the negotiating table. Smart move per Wilder.
