Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux Weighs Career-High 128.4 Pounds; Lomachenko is 129

NEW YORK When Guillermo Rigondeaux got on the scale Friday afternoon, he didn't look like a small man making an overly ambitious move. Though two inches shorter than Vasyl Lomachenko, Rigondeaux appeared muscular and more than ready to challenge the Ukrainian southpaw for his 130-pound championship Saturday night. The 5-feet-4 Rigondeaux weighed in at a career-high 128.4 pounds for his shot at Lomachenko in The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Usually Loma weighs 130 since fighting at this weight division but today even a pound less. But at the fight Loma will have a 10 pound weight advantage. IMO Rigo stays at 128 but Loma will put on 9 more pounds.

I saw the weigh in : rigo looked stronger than hell , all muscles. To me , stronger than Loma ... at least today.

Rigo by ko , left to the body all night long , alas salidos .
Hit and not be hit .

This is looking like it's going to be a great fight.

I was looking at highlights of Rigo and Loma's fights this afternoon. I can't imagine anyone close their size beating either of them, but now they're fighting each other!

That's what boxing is all about!

if lomachenko bum rushes Rigo like he did marriaga..he won't feel his jaw for quite a while..he needs to break him down round by round(very possible with the skills he has and goodluck with that) meanwhile I hope rigondeaux's weight gain won't affect him down the stretch..he needs every oxygen he can get for 12 rounds.. he can't afford to take rounds off given the judges may be crooked paid judges..hopefully not

In all fairness, people said that about Brook at the GGG weigh in. He looked great. But 2 weight classes is a massive jump.

When looking at a fighters size, i look at what they can get down to comfortably, not what they can go up to and still look physically good.

That said, Rigo is very talented so it wouldn't surprise me if he could win the fight. Just making the point that they are different sized men, no matter how the weigh in looks.

the way salido landed to lomas body at will has me thinking.... but of course loma is a better fighter now. if rigo is able to do that its over. and of course I know rigo is a different fighter than salido don't bombard me with the responses.
