              It comes down to connotation, context, and history and while I dont think anyone should use the word, it carries hate when used by a non-black as opposed to a black person using it. It is very obvious why it carries two entirely different impacts which is amplified when coming from a non-black saying it to someone he doesnt personally know and the message then clearly shows the intent.

                  King Kong is looking like a flabby old lady. Is this the first time he's been off the roids? Maybe he's trying to see how good,....or how bad he is without the juice. That's probably why he's fighting this pot-bellied tin can.
