Sugar Ray Leonard gives his thoughts on how Kell Brook can beat Triple-G
August 30, 2016:
And Leonard added that there are lessons Brook can learn from his 1987 Vegas clash with Hagler.
"To maintain the weight was quite difficult, I was kind of a natural welterweight," said Leonard.
"My weight would not go beyond 155 so it was very difficult trying to maintain 160.
"I was trying to figure out what weight I should be. As the fight got closer, I weighed in at 158, which didn't take away from my speed and didn't take away from my mobility.
"Brook has to understand what weight is he most comfortable at, what weight won't take away his speed or his movement.
"I kept moving, I could not stand toe-to-toe with Marvin Hagler. The times I did, was just to release my combinations, and then get back out.
"I could not be a stationary target because it wears you down against a bigger guy, a heavier opponent."

2 great fighters, both on the P4P list... Lomachenko is the one under pressure though... Fighting a guy 2 weight class under him and planning to destroy that guy, he has no security net ... Rigo being Rigo will pull the upset on Boxing IQ ....

The guy is moving up 4.5 lbs from his highest weigh-in and he's older now - there's also a huge difference from moving up to 130 then there is moving up to 154 or 160.
The weight will actually help Rigo - he will not have to worry about cutting weight - he can just focus on training... this is an extremely tough fight for Loma...

Rigo's footwork gonna be the key. If he can keep his distance Loma gonna get frustrated and tagged with counters. If Rigo can't keep up with his dance partner, Hasta la vista baby!
