Comments Thread For: James DeGale: I Hope David Benavidez is Next in March or April

JAMES DeGALE feared his boxing career was over after injury left him unable to even button his shirt. The IBF super-middleweight champion has been out of action since his January clash with Badou Jack after surgery to solve a serious shoulder problem. DeGale makes his return to the ring on Saturday when he defends his belt against American Caleb Truax at the Copper Box Arena.

Is Benavidez vs. Gavril II signed, sealed, and delivered yet?

      October 5, 2017:

Super middleweight: David Benavidez, of Phoenix, edged Las Vegas-based Romania native Ronald Gavril to win a split decision and the vacant belt in a barn-burner on Sept. 8. Benavidez and Gavril are expected to meet in a rematch on a date to be determined.

During the World Boxing Council's 55th annual convention, the organization issued an update on its title situation in each weight class. Here is a look at where things stand.

Chunky is the only one in the division trying to become great ; this will be his second attempt at unifying. Now look at those euro-bums in the WBSS, George Groves, E.U bum jr, Callum Smith, Brahamer only fighting for the money and barely stepping up to win a trophy

; Callum Smith is the worst one ducking Andre Direll for the WBC title -- a coward, and its even more shameful that the kid who stepped up ( Benavidez) is going on to unify?! these euro-bums are not cut from the same cloth as James Degale, PATHETIC.

          😂😂😂
That’s a ludicrous statement especially considering DeGale has openly said he would’ve loved to enter the WBSS if he would’nt of been injured.

I'm not sure if David is ready either. After the Medina fight I thought he'd beat almost everybody. The Gavril fight changed my mind for sure....
