I love MMA and the UFC, but some of their fans are just straight up ******ed. I remember having an argument with a guy about Ronda Rousey vs Mayweather, and he was convinced she'd ragdoll him in MMA - because 'Floyd doesn't hit hard' then she gets ****ed up by a couple females through BOXING who would get beat by any fit 16 year old male with a year of boxing under his belt.

You wouldn't expect the world's best baseball player to transition to cricket and dominate - so anyone who thought Conor would win is either overestimating his abilities or severely underrating / not knowing of just how good Floyd is considered.

Plus, MMA fighters don't have nearly as much power as they think they do when they are wearing the bigger gloves and have to use proper technique or else get countered into oblivion.

Nobody with half a brain felt the match would be anything less than a contest. It turned out to be kind of fun, but it was just an exhibition.

I had no problem with it because both men were clearly just grappling for cash. The fight was H U G E for McGregor because he is currently negotiating a fight with UFC so this PPV got him crazy leverage in those negotiations.

And Floyd already beat everyone relevant at the time. Canelo, Manny, Cotto...nobody worth fighting was available. Gennady wouldn't budge 1lb for Kell Brook so why would Floyd even look his way? Gennady had no market behind him, evident by 97K against Lemeiux, and remains a B-side fighter after Brook and Canelo carried him to respectable PPV numbers.

Nonetheless I stand by my earlier statements
