Comments Thread For: Devon Alexander Picks Lamont Peterson To Upset Errol Spence

Former two-division champion Devon Alexander (27-4) snapped a two fight losing streak when he defeated Walter Carrillo (26-5-1) last month in Florida. The bout topped a Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 bill and was Alexander's first ring appearance in over 2 years. Another fighter coming off of a long stint of inactivity is Lamont Peterson (35-3-1) who will return from an 11 month layoff on January 20th when he faces IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence (20) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

hmn...its possible. for the most part i think spancenwill run over him. buuut...if peterson can handle spences physicality, its very possible. peterson held his own against khan, but he was on PEDs. that fight was awful close.

this makes me wonder, bein a haymon thing...is it a real fight or an exhibition/fix, like collazo-thurman? cuz he aint shot the way guerrero was.

it would be the biggest upset of the year for me...
          idc about pachorn or cottoali

spence is prime a real welter...unlike manny and cotto who are old heads fightin in their last division way out of prime

but devon is not getting my support on this one..spence is too mentally and physically quick for any welterweight to beat him today..he thinks at a high right and works at a high rate as well...some of the most solid technique the game has today...the same can be said about lamont, but i got spence big

No matter what happens in the fight, BIG UP to Peterson for vacating a title in order to face the best WW in the game! That's what champions do! Let's Go! Keith Thurman, TAKE NOTES! Stop hiding behind that Mando with Porter! Have your tune-up, and then Spence Jr., or Terence Crawford! MAN UP!

I have been in that ring & I don't care if he had a long beard so why should you?

Peterson/khan was NOT close. And I think he said in an interview that he was prescribed testosterone cuz his Dr. said his levels were low.

As for the fight, it will be the most skilled boxer Errol fought in the pros but the only thing is Peterson ain't got power so Errol is just gonna keep coming. Should be a solid match. I'm going with youth here.

Bud is with top rank so they won't let him play with Thurman....If Errol & Keith keep winning they will meet 2019. 2018 is going to be a tune up then Porter for Thurman. Errol will be the following year.

Wishful thinking on Alexander's part, although I'm sure majority of the welterweight division is hoping Spence isn't the boogeyman he appears to be.
