Are People Overreacting to Cotto's Pictures?

I mean to me, Cotto pretty much looks the same as he always does during the weighins. He surprised me by weighing in so light. I dont think he's bad off like alot of people think. He is slightly drained by no more then normal.

I think alot of it also has to do with his haircut. He just recently cut it all off and that makes you look worse. Like your a sick cancer patient going through kemo. If he had his normal hair then he wouldnt look as funny looking.

Then we have to realize that Cotto puts on alot of weight after the weigh in, so I dont know why people are acting like he's supposed to look the same way he does when he's in the ring.

Cotto is much bigger then everyone but he has to weigh in at the same weight as everyone, so it makes him look funny all the time in the weigh in pics but he's no different then all the other times. In the ring he will look filled out and good.

He may move up after this fight but he may only move up if he struggles. If he bombs Paulie then I could see him fighting Castillo, Chico, or maybe even Hatton at 140. Maybe even the winner of the Harris & Mighty Mike fight.

Cotto is fine and you can tell that by the weight. Any time he weighs in that low then he still can make the weight for awhile. People are overeacting to the pics but he is wayed the same thing as Paulie. It wont be like that on fight night and he will look totally different. Someone go back and pull up his last few weigh in pics and I bet they all look the same but this one might just like a "littile" worse because he is bald and he is smaller then he's ever been

      What is the controversy?

Everyone knows Cotto basically starves himself and looks like a somalian when he weighs in.

      He's nowhere near being a natural 140 lber....so don't go there.

If he was fighting at his real, healthy weight....he'd be a SMW.

Boxers walk around at weights much, much, much, higher than their fighting weights boss.

Especially a guy like Cotto who has came into fights weighing 158 which is just about middleweight.....and he's just finished training.

When he gets a week off, hydrates, and has a couple of cervezas.

He's at his healthy weight of 165 or 170 I'd say.

Acelino Freitas walks around at approximately 170, Vargas walks around at 190 at least......just to give you a couple of examples.

I wouldn't worry. He'll be 20lbs heavier tomorrow(or I could technically say today). I don't see him having any problems disposing Paulie if he goes the 20lbs heavier route. On the other hand, if he just comes in about 10lbs heavier(the norm), then I may, just may worry. If he comes in at even terms with Paulie, then he is giving Paulie a HUGE chance. Heck, as long as he does come in around only 10lbs heavier, I'll give Paulie a huge chance at pulling the upset because he's got the tools to do it!

Maybe Cotto doesnt want to put on alot of weight though? Judging by his weigh in weight, Im guessing that he wants to be a littile lighter & quicker for this fight to deal with Paulie better. Maybe he thinks fighting his normal way will play into Paulie's hands and he wants to try to outbox Paulie.

Kind of like how Hopkins through Tito off when he weighed in at only 157 pounds so he could be quicker and then he outboxed him
