Alvarez is nothing and cannot beat the guy who hasn't won in his last three fights...

guys like him get the coverage because of who is related to him,in this case canelo, otherwise nobody woulk know who he is and wouldn't be getting the coverage he is and the fights on tv...also for fighters who pull off the upset against popular ones, like jeff horn, nobody knew who he was until that upset,or this sadam ali or however you write his name,he was kind of unknown but if he pulls off the upset, big purses are sure to follow..or that fighter from argentina who pulled off the upset,he was a taxi driver ,he lost his next fight but made good money because he beat a known fighter, forgot his name and who he beat, think it was last year

Actually you related Horn or Ali to your premise. Usually contenders get notice by the sub category belts they win in the orgs. Affiliation is not winning fights for them in the ring...

Same thing with the Cotto bros. Or Trout beating Rigoberto and Nelo taking that family vengeance. I think it’s all cool that these rivalries exist and at any rate much of these guys have bonafide boxing families.
