Comments Thread For: Bob Arum Very Willing To Work With Miguel Cotto - The Promoter

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is very open to the idea of working with Miguel Cotto's promotional company in the future. Cotto, the only male fighter from Puerto Rico to win four divisional titles, will retirement on Saturday night in the aftermath of his defense of the WBO junior middleweight title against Sadam Ali at New York's Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Highly doubtful. Especially the way things ended between Cotto and Arum. Arum won't forget how Miguel left them on the brink of making the Cotto vs Canelo fight.

Not to mention the fact that Miguel Cotto joining forces with Golden Boy Promotions has led to Machado getting exposure first on ESPN then getting a title shot on HBO and becoming champion in a 4 month span. It wouldn't make business sense.

I also believe he had another one of his guys from his stable headline last month and another just co main evented last night. So again it doesn't make business sense.

Yeah I guess Cotto needs to sign some Jeff Horns, Alvarados, and Beltrans as soon as possible. On a real note, what Arum means to say is "I'll work with Cotto until one of my fighters signs with him instead of renewing with me."

Arum may be a snake and liar, but above all he is a businessman. He'd do business with anybody if he felt he could benefit. If Cotto is to become successful as a promoter he'll end up being the same way.
