Comments Thread For: Sadam Ali Career-High 153 Pounds; Miguel Cotto Weighs in at 151.6

Sadam Ali at least looked the part Friday afternoon. The welterweight contender from Brooklyn officially weighed in at a career-high 153 pounds for his 12-round, 154-pound title fight against Miguel Cotto on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. His highest official weight prior to Friday was 151 pounds, for a four-round, unanimous-decision win against Martinus Clay in May 2010.

Cotto weighing so little when there's no need. Might come back to bite him.

      Scratching my head.............

If Cotto came in at 151.3 pounds then I'm trying to figure out why the Marquez fight couldn't have happened. Cotto said he wouldn't drain himself to get down to that weight and he did just that for Sadam Ali. Maybe Cotto was ill in camp, wanted to go out big for last fight or may comeback. Not really sure.....

The last reported offer from Cotto's people was a catch weight of 149 lbs. Marquez refused to fight over 147. Thats why the fight didn't happen, and it really didn't matter because Marquez couldn't complete a full campbeither way.

Spot on these clowns assume that Marquez would be in ready to fight Cotto. Marquez is done you will not see him in boxing again. PEDs destroyed his body. The guy has not fought since 2014. Thats 3 years. There is a reason for that. Marquez will never fight again. Those using Cotto's comfortable weight as an excuse that he ducked Marquez are idiots.
