He's got the speed and power while he's younger and mostly the speed which will leave him as he gets older, and then he'll be relying solely on power at 135lbs which is yet tested. I don't see him as the big puncher he was at 126lbs in the 130lbs division so at 135lbs he will be even more weakened. Going up against the heavy proven hitters at 135lbs could be devastating to him and his chin. He should stay at 130lbs and clean house before he moves up though even that task along is daunting. Barrios, Juarez, and possibly Freitas if he comes down again, or Edwin Valero gets a shot. Those are all very hard hitting punchers that Manny has yet to face.
moving up to 135 lbs is in the future for pac as per roach he will probably end his career there as for him hanging with the top guys i think he could i just do LOL!

But seriously I dont think he can really fight with the bigger lightweight punchers i.e. Freitas and Corrales. However Pacman could possibly win a lightweight belt from Juan Diaz, who probably doesn't have the power to hurt Pacman.
IMO a fight with freitas would be entertaining... not much size advantage for freitas ang they both have power...

          See I have to disagree.
I think Popo is all wrong for Pac, maybe even more so than anyone else in the 130-135 pound weight class.

Frietas herky-jerky style and dynamite punch could close the show on Pac Man. A big puncher is going to be Manny's downfall because after all, Pac is very hittable. And I believe that when Popo lands, he cashes in.

he might fair ok with some, but most of the guys at 135lbs. are bigger. either they are growing out of the division or they're dropping down into the division.

if i was pacs advisor i'd be very leary about him fighting anyone at 135lbs.

it would have to be under perfect circumstances and conditions, also if pac could grow into the weight properly.

i think he should stay where he's at. personally i think 135 is too big for him.........

that's why i said it was going to be entertaining... given the fact that popo is one helluva puncher and is very agile... i just like to see him battle it out with manny and see who gets KO'd first...

castillo-corrales is the one-two of lightweight and definitely they are the fights that should not happen to manny... he has power, but those two have much more...

i have to see PAC first againts big Jr. Light weights like Barrios and Valero first .... before even thinking of going to 135 ...

just for argument, i seen on this thread that most say pac can only hang with one 135 champ, Juan Diaz, i say how about chavez? IMHO, he is not too big for pac...

I think a Freitas fight would actually suit Pac. Freitas throws wild looping rights and hooks while Pac shoots straight down the middle. Punch for Punch , i think they are even in power. It would be a great fight though as I like both guys alot. It would be a slugfest alright.

Honestly I doubt it if Pacquiao can still fight aggresively as he is doing now for 12 rounds if he comes in heavier than ussual. Plus the fact that his opponents may come in at 150/155 lbs at fight night how do we expect Pacquiao to out power them.

Yes he can fight at 135 but he is not going to be a dominating figure.

lets don't forget that Pac started his career at minimumweight. he is too small to compete at 135lbs. all the current champs and top fighters at 135lbs could take Pac's power (except for Chavez).
