Comments Thread For: Naoya Inoue vs. Luis Nery To Be Targeted in 2018?

If everything goes well in Japan in the upcoming rematch with Shinsuke Yamanaka, then promoter Fernando Beltra of Mexico would not rule out the possibility of Luis 'Panterita' Nery going up against another Japanese fighter, Naoya Inoue, who is considered by many to be one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world.

Sounds great, but ONLY so long as Inoue vs the Estrada/Sor Rung Visai winner happens first at 115. The Superfly story that started last year between Chocolatito, Sor Rung Visai, Estrada, Inoue, and to an extent Cuadras (in that Chocolatito and Estrada both got their big wins last year vs him and that he may provide the same to Inoue this February on the Superfly 2 card) needs to have its finale, first, which is Inoue vs the winner. His career will benefit from that to a huge degree as well, giving him P4P credentials before his move up and making him the name fighter in any division he goes to, helping him get bigger fights.

This would be a damn good matchup. I doubt this would happen on Super Fly 2 which give credit to HBO and the promoters who came together to put that show on. Smart Investment

But these two look very good thus far. Hopefully there's a unification fight next year in this division.

Inoue will grow out of 115 soon probably next year. Hopefully get the Estrada-Rungvisai winner first and the winner fights Nery.

115 is the best division in Boxing.

Inoue better not move up without facing the winner of Rungvisai-Estrada.

Naoya should fight the winner of Estrada vs Sor Rungvisai for a unification in Superfly 3 in 2018.

Naoya can even fight Chocolatito before moving to Bantamweight.
