Kovalev folding and submitting to Ward is THE NERVE to this one...lol...you had to be his Vodkaboy or something...

"Here's your Smirnoff, Mister Sergey. Chilled way you like it!"

"Thank you, friend. But I ask for Russian Standard.... is your name again?"

"I'm sorry, sir! We could only afford Smirnoff. You fought Ward for peanut.
    "

(Kovalev shoots the Vodka, backhands Vlad off the apron, and gets back to "work")

Come to think of it...Kovalev really turned out to be a Russian Standard P*SSY ASS QUITTER!...it must be sooo painful knowing the guy you related to and rooted for BOWED DOWN to The American, Andre Ward.

I've seen fights officiated where belt line groin shots stop the fight, on several occurrences through out the fight.
After viewing a replay the ref admitted he made a mistake giving the fight to Ward on a TKO. He admitted the blows were low and he should have given Kovalev the standard 5 minutes to recover. Ward fans like to say Kovalev had already quit and even if given time to recover Ward would have gone on to knock him out anyway. That is an assumption and not a fact. The fight was about even on points when it was stopped. Kovalev was wrongly denied the chance to try to win the fight. Kovalev never quit. He just doubled over in pain as any man will do after taking a few hard uppercuts to the balls.

I guess Andre Ward was also allowed to head-butt and fight dirty from the age 12 all the way up to the Olympic Gold Medal he won in 2004 in a weight division above his natural one never losing an amateur fight in the process.

He has no skills at all. He just uses dirty tactics to win every single fight. Even in the amateurs, where clean boxing is what gives you wins.

You people are pathetic. Would do anything to discredit somebody just because you simply don't like them. But when your logic doesn't add up and you get called out on it like I'm doing right now, your true colors will come out. Let's see the responses.

Under normal circumstances yes the ref should stop the fight and give it to the man dishing out the punishment. But if the guy sort of turns his back because he is great pain from a low blow or low blows the ref is supposed to stop the action and give the guy who was hit low up to 5 minutes to recover while either warning or taking away a point from the guy who landed the low blow or blows.

Good for the ref. I love when people say "kov bent over defeated" dude he clearly bent over from getting hit straight in the nuts

It's one of the most amazingly bad calls in modern boxing history. Amazing that some people (the usual suspects) think there was nothing wrong with it.

Should have been a point off for deliberate foul and 5 minutes.

Imagine had Kovalev got a gift decision and then "won" a fight on a blatantly intentional nut shut combo KO? The same folks that say all was fair would be outraged and/or bragging about how good Adonis Stevenson is now.

It's pretty messed up.. You'll have boxing analysts casually saying andre ward came through and won a dominate TKO.

The fight was dead even, and the nut shots were a strategy throughout

I thought he was up by a few but fading but earned the right to have the ref made correct decisions and give him time. After all he dominated the first 6 rounds of fight one for tired and then found a second wind and won at least two of the last four so he had it in him to recover.
