I understand what he said, and I also understand that he just fought a little over a month ago, so he shouldn't be out of shape either.

There have been fighters who have taken fights on less notice, and if boo boo is that damn good, and his opponent is not, and is tailor-made for him, i'm still failing to realize why he'd need an extra 2 months to prepare.

    Unless he's full of s#it.

That is, unless Derevyanchenko had already started training weeks in advance and then I would agree if thats the case.
Man there are so few Andrade fans right here. And Right now you are the only one yet that is an Andrade fan and there is me.

Name one championship fighter that signed to fight with less than 2 months notice. You just don't take those risks when you feel a big (money wise...relative to previous purses) fight is potentially around the corner.

Unfortunately it seems that for whatever reason many fighters are undisciplined when it comes to staying in shape between fights. Sparring can be limited to just training camp. But everything else should be standard. I don’t understand the logic behind having a fight, then taking 4 months to “rest”, during which time the fighter doesn’t set foot in the gym, is eating pizza and drinking beer and is living like a pro video gamer instead of a pro athlete. Then they come in 2-3 months prior to their fight date and their “training camp” is in reality a glorified fat farm where they have to focus on losing all the excess weight, and getting back the strength and stamina they lost in the previous 4 months. I’ve heard of many fighters who do this, from Adrien Broner, Billy Joe Saunders, Tyson Fury, Rid**** Bowe, Roberto Duran, James Toney, Brandon Rios, Ricky Hatton, Buster Douglas those are just the ones who come to mind first. But there’s many many other examples, and of course I described the most extremely unhealthy end of the spectrum, but it seems like a high percentage of fighters are not staying in shape the way pro athletes from other sports are. I may be wrong, and I’m sure there’s plenty of other guys I’m not aware of, but the only guys I can think of are; Chris Eubank jr, Joshua, Froch,Holyfield, Donaire, Gabe Rosado are guys who come to mind who didn’t let himself ever get out of shape, like I said I’m sure there are many others, but I don’t understand this mindset with so many fighters

I think Andrade's style will neutralize the effectiveness of some top middleweights. He is very clever and slippery.
