Comments Thread For: DeGale: I Spoke To Al Haymon, He Said David Benavidez Next!

James DeGale makes his return from injury on December 9th at the Copper Box Arena against rugged pro Caleb Truax. Speaking on our BoxNation Podcast about his preparation for the upcoming card DeGale was sure he'd be back better than ever, "I've done all the sparring, and my shoulder's healed up well. I've got the go-ahead from the Doctor and the physio."

"Whenever I want to call him I can call him. He’s done a lot for me.”

Wow, what a privilege. The adviser you pay 10% of your annual million dollar fight purses lets you call him. He might not pick up most of the time... Degale left that little detail out, for some reason (lol)... but whenever you want to at least call him, you are totally allowed to. You can totally do that. For the hundreds of thousands of dollars per year you pay him to advise you, you are allowed to dial his number, and even click "call" and let it ring as many times as you want. As many times as you want. You don't even have to pay extra for every time you listen to it ring before finally hanging up. Amazing!

HEHEHE I agree with most of this. BUT, Haymon makes it possible fighters get overpaid. You can fight for Haymon and get rich pretty fast, fighting not that often

Name another avenue that will give you millions to fight once a year?

DeGale for Jacobs I’d say that’s a pretty fair trade lol. So this is the beginning of a Haymon- Hearn war

These euro-bums take notes from James Degale and David Benavidez, meanwhile E.U bum jr. Callum Smith, George Groves are fighting nobodies ; whats this like James 7 or eight world level opponent? and hes gunning to unify the WBC AGAIN?

and young David Benavidez is like only 21 ? but hes already stepping up, but E.U bum jr. and Callum Smith are fighting : Skoglund, and Anvi? how old are they?!

Great fight. Depending how Degale looks after the layoff its a 50/50 for me. Degale at his best wins, at his worst he doesnt. Problem for him is he regularly switches from his best to his worst round by round
