Eddie Hearn uses the Underlings to protect Anthony Joshua.

He used Tony Bellew to protect AJ from David Haye. He's trying to use Dillian Whyte to protect him from Deontay Wilder. And he's now trying to talk up Bellew fighting Tyson Fury. I'm getting sick and tired of hearing about Eddie Hearn thinking he runs the Heavyweight division.

To be honest if you can't get through either Whyte or Bellew, you don't deserve the Joshua payday.

Your right on about ALL that.I was wondering back before for a sec after I heard that he signed Ortiz. Then it made sence. But he CLEARLY trying to use Whyte to protect Joshua from Wilder. He praying Wilder takes that fight and Whyte can pull off upset(lets face it both Josk,Wilder are vurnable)and he runs WHOLE div.Gotta guy his man already beat and loss to him would not hurt career nearly as much.

As it turned out, David Haye is indeed shot. A fit and healthy Haye would run rings around AJ and bounce Hayemakers off his head at will. Alas, that Haye is gone forever.

The Gypsy King and the Bronze Bomber are most definately still alive and kicking.

Yes indeed. I was gonna make a troll thread titled "News Just In: Anthony Joshua has to beat Jarrell Miller if he wants the Deontay Wilder fight." But then I remembered, Miller is a Hearn fighter now. It's actually scary how Hearn is trying to get control and options on every major Heavyweight. A modern day Don King.

If they are then they should have no problems beating Bellew or Whyte.

Let's face it, Hearn does have a point here. A fight with either Bellew or Whyte would build up a fight with Joshua in the UK.

If Wilder is good enough to take on Joshua he should run through Whyte easily and if the Super-HW Fury can't beat Bellew he should retire in shame.

Whyte is a gatekeeper who can promote fights with trash talk. He should have been a good fight for any elite HW wanting Joshua. Easy money and more build up and money for the Joshua payday.

I don't think Hearn is trying too hard to protect Joshua at all. He did match him with Klitschko after only 19 fights. The fight with Martin was a relative risk too since many people thought it was too early for Joshua to become the champ and some people actually thought that Martin might be legit.

This is one of the reasons why I give no legitimacy to the UFC. Their entire company is run like that, they own every fighter. When they want to build somebody up they can easily protect him all the way like they did with Conor.

Yea its almost flattering to think the heavys mean this much again. It always helps boxing to have a good heavy div.Thats why I pray nither Joshua or Wilder lose and they fight each other ASAP.It really could be HUGE for boxing. But Hearn is in no hurry. He should just make it 2 fight deal good chance his man could win one then we get trilogy.Im getting way ahead of myself.lol

I hate the UFC more than prob anybody on board just because they are getting all the younger fans. But they match their guys harder BECAUSE they win either way.And some one will allways emerge into a star.If boxing was ALL run by one guy(hopefully me)it would be better off and we fans would see best fight best more often. But that's a pipe dream.

Not really because many guys just don't have it in them to be a draw even if they're winning.

It's very obvious that they prefer certain fighters and want them to win more.

Brock Lesnar, Conor McGregor, Sage Northcutt, Paige Van Zandt, Ronda Rousey. These fighters were protected since day one because they either had the looks or could talk.

They matched Conor McGregor with stylistically favorable opponents on his way to the title and matched his stylistic threats against each other. Then they gave him a title shot in the next division immediately.

While on the other hand if there's someone who they don't think could ever become a draw they'll keep matching him up with killers and even if you go like 8-0 they still don't give you a title shot.

If you can talk or look good you'll get preferential treatment. If you don't speak English or can't play some WWE role, good luck ever getting a title shot unless you're some killer who can go like 15-0 against all the contenders.

Max Holloway had to go on a 10-0 streak to get the title shot, Yoel Romero was 8-0 in the UFC and didn't get it, Tony is on a 10-0 streak and still didn't get the title shot etc. Brock Lesnar got a title shot after being 1-1 in the UFC. Some fighters got title shots coming of a loss.
