Prime David Tua was way too powerful or durable for Roy Jones Jr going by the Roy Jones Jr I saw at heavyweight. Roy Jones Jr has very little feats at heavyweight. Merely 1 bout isn't enough to gauge how he would perform against other elite heavyweights at the time. So an unproven, untested and subsequently an unprepared Roy Jones Jr at heavyweight would be knocked out inside 6 rounds in my opinion against someone like David Tua.

However, if Roy Jones Jr actually took time to build himself up at the heavyweight division by having more bouts and then slowly accustoming his body to adjust / adapt to the heavyweight division along with his style, then it may have been a different outcome. It's entirely possible that Roy Jones Jr could've potentially become an elite heavyweight capable of beating other elite heavyweights himself had he given himself time to adapt / adjust stylistically and physically to the heavyweight division by starting off boxing against inferior level of opposition and then gradually taking on better level of opposition. This would obviously enable him to get used to and habituated to the heavyweight division in terms of what is required to succeed in this weight division. Although all of this is purely speculative as none of us really know if Roy Jones Jr would've truly adapted to the heavyweight divsion since some sub-heavyweights coming up to heavyweight do. Whilst others don't!

Having stated all of this. Going by the fact that Roy Jones Jr has very little experience and feats at heavyweight where he is mostly unproven and untested. Prime David Tua has to be the HUGE favorite to win. Particularly by KNOCKOUT!

Roy Jones was a great light heavyweight and also great at 160 and 168. He was never a true heavyweight and only beat Ruiz who Tua KOed in one round. Tua would walk through Jones's punches and knock him out in my opinion. Jones might win a round or two but he would get KOed in 8 rounds or less and most likely less.

****** matchup, RJJ had one fight at HW at the tail end of his prime. It’s like saying prime Kovalev vs Sugar Ray Robinson at LHW.
No surprise to see that ****** Ganstaz commenting on this thread

As much as I like the TuaMan, I think it would have played out similar to Tua vs Byrd. Chris Byrd was a bulked up middleweight and beat both Kiwis (Tua & Thunder) so the size factor doesn't mean that much when we all know SPEED BEATS POWER. When Roy first stepped into the heavies he was still fast enough to avoid Tua's left hook.

High probability Roy takes a UD 70/30 imo but he would have to be on point every second of every round. A glancing blow from Tua could end it. He would have to move so much people would cry runner and he probably could. Like some else said..blown up LHW Chris Byrd beat Tua, Roy surely could.
