As far as I know, they want to keep the WBA belt and technically get rid of the WBA super belt by having the wba regular fight against the wba super.

Peterson vacated his wba regular belt. Mathysse Vs Kiram are fighting for the belt. If they mandate the fight with Thurman, the winner of the fight will be the WBA champ and the WBA super belt will cease to exist.

It is ****** and unnecessary complicated, but I can understand it to a certain extent. They probably dont want to just outright get rid of the regular belt holder, because of possible lawsuits.

Still, they should have forced all the regular champs to fight the super champs by now.

The fight is just unnecessary. Gestas non-performance against vazquez should disqualify him for all big fights.
He had no answers for Vazquezs movement and just gave up and didnt press the action for the whole fight.

Very stiff and onedimensional boxer.

Im liking this card. Linares-Gesta isnt bad and undefeated Thai fighters can be dangerous.

Agreed. He ain't worthy of a title shot whatsoever. He struggled to get a draw against Carlos Molina, that says it all...
