Disappointing.

At the beginning of this month the WBA had 1 champion in 10 of 17 weight classes. I thought they might be getting serious about 1 champ per weight class. Unfortunately we'll be down to only 8 of 17 weight classes in 2 months time since they've sanctioned a regular title in the heavyweight and welterweight classes.

They're going in the wrong direction.

Interesting card.

For Lucas this is an oppurtunity to position himself to get a big money fight around the summer time if he gets past Kiram. Remember us fans should not underestimate these Thai fighters. Look what happened to Roman Gonzalez. This could become Postol all over again for Lucas.

As for Linares this is simply a stay busy fight to hopefully get Mikey Garcia next. Gesta isn't a lay up by no means but he doesn't let his hands go enough to give Linares real problems in my opinion. This is honestly the only in house fight Golden Boy can do for Linares. The rest are prospects who aren't near contender status yet.

Interesting way to start 2018 for Golden Boy Promotions. But at least they are title fights.

Matthysse always seems to be fighting for a belt of one sort or another.
One moment you think he is no longer in the game and the next moment you see him against an overmatched opponent and then bam he is fighting for a belt.
