Comments Thread For: McGuigan Takes Legal Action Against Carl Frampton

Solicitors acting for former world champion Carl Frampton have confirmed that his former promoter, Barry McGuigan of Cyclone Promotions, has taken a legal action against him. Frampton left the stable back in August, to join Matthew Macklin's MTK and Frank Warren of Queensberry.

Disappointed in Barry, for a former boxer to go through this route is surprising. Barry made sure that Carl was never under any sort of contract when working with Hearn, Carl eventually left Hearn and was then managed and promoted by Barry, they made enough monies together. Hope Barry loses this case.

We seen Carl twice recently, in ikea and another low rent shop.

Aparantly he nearly went bankrupt in the last 3 months.

          Well ain't that a *****.

He should have stayed with Hearn and ditched Barry back in the day, I'm sure he would be a millionaire right now, Hearn may be a lot of things, but he doesn't rob his fighters with his open book policy.

Do you know the intricate details of the promotional contract? Didnt think so. For all we know Frampton was still under contract with barry and if thats the case he has every right to take legal action.

I have seen this with most promoters. I doubt Carl is ****** enough to leave a promotional contract without clarifying the situation. Barry is an ex boxer and the reason why am more disappointed in him.

                    VERY disappointing in Mcguigan.

Since he has gone into the promoting business he has shown himself to be a total b1tch.

Suing the one guy who made his complete business is beneath contempt.
