I thought Gamboa won the first 6 rounds clearly

The 7th round was Sosa's but that wasn't a knockdown as Gamboa was off balance and Sosa's punch hit Gamboa's glove and he fell. 8th round was Gamboa's also.

He is not the same Gamboa, but having 3 weeks to prepare against a very solid guy who came overweight. I think it was impressive.

The 10th round was also Gamboa's but with the point deduction it's a 9-9.

I can see people viewing the fight different ways, but I think the bigger take-away is that Gamboa's reflexes and timing are gone, which is why he's getting hit so much, always off-balance, has no pop or power any more. I hope he calls it a day because a longer training camp doesn't replace the things he's missing right now.

I don't agree. Gamboa did much holding and threw mostly arm punches. His opponent took the fight to him and landed the harder punches. Gamboa should have lost by many points but he has the name and is the one the promoters have future plans for. The crowd booed the decision as well they should have. Gamboa's last good performance was in the Crawford fight. I think he is finished as a top contender and will soon be just a stepping stone for up coming boxers.

Since when is Jason Sosa such a pushover though?
There are guys that are in much worse shape than Gamby and have taken much worse punishment and they have come back. Cotto for instance. Gamboa doesn't have Cotto's fundamentals and he's lost a bit but just in 3 weeks training with his new coach I saw a lot of improvement. Let's see how his next fight plays out. He took a fight on short notice against a top 10 guy in the division who came in overweight and he beat him clearly. So is it so bad for Yuri?

Has nothing to do w/ Sosa. It's what I've seen in Gamboa in the last 3 fights. His reflexes and timing are gone. He can still do the same things, on a basic level. But the sharpness that made him a really good fighter is gone.
Wish it weren't so but it's just the way it is.

Gamboa won the fight. I'm going to continue to repeat myself in every single thread, HBO does the same **** every single fight card, they stir controversy on fights and score things ridiculously and people buy it.

I was watching a russian stream with no scorecards and no english commentary I didn't know what the **** they were saying, I went into the master thread and afterwards and said Gamboa clearly took that even with the bogus knockdown and the point deduction. I had him by like 2 points or something. I was amazed and confused when everyone else on the thread was going off about how Gamboa is done, he clearly lost, and should retire. But he took the fight on short notice, went in there and clearly outboxed Sosa in my eyes and took the fight not too comfortably but I thought it was decisive. It was competitive. He was gassed a bit and did some holding, not terribly holding though I don't think a 12 round with 1 minute left in the round point deduction was necessary at all but hey, that's just me. Keep in mind he didn't have a full training camp.

Then the scorecards were announced and in my head I said "Ok...so the judges agree with me at least, maybe a little wide but the right man won." Everyone started crying robbery everywhere and I was really confused. But whatever, just sharing my experience and opinion no one has to agree with me.

You're spot on buddy and some guys are talking about Gamboa's last fight as if this had anything to do with this fight. Oh Gamboa looked shot in his last fight therefore he looked shot and not like the Gamboa of old that beat up Salido, thus he didn't win. Gamboa looked good for a 3 week camp, not spectacular but pretty solid. There are very few people here that understand and care about boxing, most of the posters have other agendas.
