Boxingscene is already being paid to recognize the IBO.

Ignoring them is how we ended up with so many. The media's job shouldn't be to ignore, their job should be to report. Every media member should be exposing Main Events right now for trying to prop up the IBA. Only through embarrassing and humiliating the promoters will they become too scared to attempt this kind of ruse.

The "ignoring" strategy is what allowed the WBO to slowly gain acceptance. It should not be a question of ignoring, it should be a question of identifying and eliminating. HBO should have refused to buy Main Events card if unrecognized titles were going to be on the show. HBO ignoring the WBO in the 80s and 90s didn't stop them. HBO refusing to buy the fights would have stopped them.

Look at what Sky Sports did. They decided to stop buying fights if IBO, IBA or WBU titles were at stake and almost over night, the titles disappeared from the market.

Then why did he vacate his WBC title and refuse to fight Adonis Stevenson?

Wish PBC took off properly and introduced just one title per division.

What the ****kk???? Kovalev never had the WBC title. Kovalev never vacated any title... Stevenson won the WBC belt from a shot and finished Chad Dawson back in 2013, and was fighting peanut cans ever since...

We didn't say *the* WBC title, we said his WBC title.

Jean Pascal fought Lucian Bute in a non-title Canadian superfight and the WBC awarded the winner (Pascal) with the honorary "diamond" championship.

Kovalev then made a very unusual request. Kovalev requested that he be allowed to fight Pascal for the diamond WBC title, even though diamond titles are typically an honorary award for a one time event and aren't "defended" afterward. But Kovalev wanted Pascal to defend the WBC diamond title. Kovalev wanted to be named Stevenson's mandatory if he won the WBC diamond title. Kovalev also wanted the WBC to order a 50/50 split of the purse if he became diamond champion.

Stevenson could have objected to this incredibly unique series of demands. The WBC could have rejected some or all of Kovalev's requests. However, the WBC, and Stevenson, were both eager for an undisputed champion to be crowned in the weight class, so the WBC and Stevenson both agreed to ALL of Kovalev's demands with zero hesitation.

Kovalev beat Pascal and as promised Kovalev was awarded the diamond WBC title, Kovalev was named Stevenson's mandatory and Kovalev was guaranteed a 50/50 purse split. Just as he requested. Every single thing Kovalev asked for, he was given.

Kovalev's plan was simple. He assumed Stevenson would vacate his title rather than face Kovalev. There was one problem though, Stevenson said yes to everything.

A purse bid was ordered, with the 50/50 split Kovalev demanded. Stevenson was ready to fight ASAP.

It was time for Kovalev to put up or shut up. His HBO contract had just expired and there was nothing stopping him from taking the fight.

Kovalev vacated his WBC title and refused to fight Stevenson. The purse bid was canceled.

No he did not vacate his Diamond belt. Stevenson jumped to Showtime and the fight was not possible.

FALSE FALSE FALSE FALSE FALSE FALSE FALSE FALSE

Stevenson signs with Showtime in March 2014.

Kovalev won the diamond title in March 2015.

Kovalev ducked the purse bid in April 2015.
