Is what I'm guessing is coming up soon. Machado isn't a fighter I care for but he beats this version of Gamboa.
Machado vs Gamboa

I don't care about Machado. A Lomachenko-Machado doesn't interest me.
I would like to see someone take that title away from Machado before Loma gets to it.
Gamboa may not be the same fighter he was, but he showed some flashes in the first half of the fight today. He arguably won three of them (I think a 3-2 score either way is acceptable after the first five rounds).
I don't like how he slowed down in the second half though; IMO that's why he should have lost the fight.
He didn't even look tired, maybe he was, but it didn't look like it. It's a shame that he can't keep it up all 10-12 rounds. If he could find a way to do it I think he can beat Machado. I think a Castellanos rematch would be tougher for Gamboa than Machado.
Machado only really brings power, which with Gamboa's chin and how he gets off balance, it could spell trouble for sure, don't get me wrong. But it is a winnable fight for Gamboa. He just can't afford to not fight hard in the second half of fights.
Gamboa should rematch Castellanos first though. The winner gets a shot at Machado.
If Gamboa can pull off those two victories it would gain people's interest a bit.Last edited by HI-TECH Boxing; 11-26-2017, 10:47 AM. -
