Kovalev fans still holding on to the excuses,

Kovalev was broken both physically and mentally during the Ward fight. The guy was done no matter how you saw the final few seconds.

Kovalev doesn't really have fans as much as ward has haters.

Ward is superior in every way!

Kovs chance was the first fight but he allowed his arrogance to consume him into thinking he can beat Ward at his own game!

Admittedly he came very close and arguably did it first time around but he should've stuck soley to his strengths which is use the reach and distance to his full advantage!

If he would've listened to B Hop and his trainer he maybe still would've been champ!

In the end Duva is right but at the same time wrong cuz Ward would always pose a problem to Kov due to his dedication, experience, stamina, strength, toughness and his willingness to do whatever it takes to get the W!

For a Russian Kov was nice to Ward who was absolutely bending the rules in both fights, only threw rabbit punches...surprised he didn't return favor to low blows or tackles!

I still don't get it... He was stellar for 4 rounds then choked and did not much for the rest of the fight... I would have bought a draw considering the knock down, but at the end of the day Ward did just enough to get 2 rounds over him and win the fight... No rocket science here..

                  Hopkins is right.

I remember in the lead up to Hopkins how hungry Kovalev was and how he gave up seeing the birth of his child to instead train for Hopkins. With Hopkins having beaten JDJ as well, JDJ and Kovalev were completely on the same page in the leadup and super motivated to get the win.

Hopkins is a wise man when it comes to boxing. Take off his Golden Boy hat and he drops knowledge. Put the Golden Boy hat on and he talks hype and BS.

If Kovalev had Hopkins dedication and mental strength he would have dominated LHW for a long time.

Bernard Hopkins, mentor to Andre Ward and inspiration for Kovalev. Hespec!

Kov won the first, and he is a very good fighter. But only the very best have the ability to "adjust". Ward, for all his whining and dirty tricks, has that ability and iis still one of the all time best. Ward vs Calzaghe would have been epic!
