Obviously an incredible honor for Canelo. But I'll be honest. I find it a little odd that he gave him signed gloves. I mean, is Pope Francis a boxing fan? And if he is, is he a big Canelo fan? He's from Argentina. I'm sure it's appreciated, but, and not to make assumptions, I can't imagine a spiritual leader of that magnitude really cares about that. Canelo said he wanted to give the pope something of himself, and he gave him something he would give a regular fan? Maybe I'm just looking into this too much. I'm sure the pope was thankful for the gift.
