ok look i mean no disrespect to anyone from filippines. i apologise to those that took this offensive. however kepsy, manny dropped out of high school at the age of fifteen and went to work in a bakery. so i seriously doubt that he has any degrees. he is a very good boxer without a doubt. but i seriously would not think he is presidential material. -
Ok, fair enough I didn't know that he dropped out of high school, but so did Henry Ford. That's all i'm saying. I don't personally know him, but just because he's a high school dropout I don't assume he's got no street smarts. A lot of high school dropouts become successful businessmen. From what I heard he's opening businesses and obtaining real estates in the Philippines to fall back on once he's off boxing. I thought that was pretty smart.
We're cool, no apologies necessary. We're just voicing out opinions, right?Comment

you got it man. yes you can be very successful even though you drop out. but president would be stretching it. i think it is very smart of him to be a business man and make money off of his money. larry holmes did the same thing. alot of them do. perhaps because i am american and america would never in these days have a president that was a highschool drop out. abe lincoln was a middle school drop out. but that was then and this is now. well i'm out guys. have a good night.Originally posted by kepsyOk, fair enough I didn't know that he dropped out of high school, but so did Henry Ford. Usually the way things work these days is those who drop out of school do so because they have something better to move on to and the ones who graduate end up working for minimum wage at a fast food place...besides businessmen never learn much in school, to be a good businessman you've just got to be ruthless and opportunistic ( born not learned) , and the less education you have the richer you can become. An ignorant muther****er can become president, just look at G. W. Bush!Comment

I'd rather have Manny President of the Philippines than have a Pappy Secretary of State or National Security Adviser of this country-- much less president-- and conduct foreign policy. I wouldn't even make him White House Security Guard, much less Homeland Security chief. The name alone smacks...
For years, Americans have been often labeled in many foreign shores as "Ugly", as in, "Ugly American". Pappy makes Americans deserve such a label.
From what I could see in this thread, Filipinos were talking about their own country and their prospects. Pappy's meddling was, at best, uncalled for. He should learn that if one doesn't have anything nice to say about any other person's country, one should just shut one's trap up! Any American who doesn't learn that does a terrible disservice to his fellow-Americans and mocks American heritage!
If there's only one American who thinks the way that Pappy does, that's one too many!
He feels blessed that he's in America?! He should! The likes of him MUST! It was obviously from a roll of the dice that he is!But I'm convinced that America has not been blessed with his presence!
Sorry fellas!!!

interesting that you feel that way. however bush did graduate from both highschool and college. and really graduating from highschool doesn't mean **** these days. its college you have to get through. and the statement you made about the less education you have the richer you can become cracks me up. btw, i have never seen you here before so a big welcome to you. i think you should take a look at the 10 richest people in the world and see what type of education they have.Originally posted by beeatch!Usually the way things work these days is those who drop out of school do so because they have something better to move on to and the ones who graduate end up working for minimum wage at a fast food place...besides businessmen never learn much in school, to be a good businessman you've just got to be ruthless and opportunistic ( born not learned) , and the less education you have the richer you can become. actually there were no dice rolled at all. infact my heritage in this country goes further back than most of the people in this country. before any of the white men who came here were even a discharge from a 2 second pleasure running down thier mothers leg. don't even talk to me about heritage.Comment

So you talk about heritage then: What is it that has been handed to you? The one that allows you to knock other people's country? Proud of that, are we?Originally posted by big_pappyactually there were no dice rolled at all. infact my heritage in this country goes further back than most of the people in this country. before any of the white men who came here were even a discharge from a 2 second pleasure running down thier mothers leg. don't even talk to me about heritage.
I have such great respect for those who were here before any white man even had the faintest idea that this place existed. Am I now to think they handed down such a heritage? Is that what you're telling everyone reading this site?
Pardon me, but I have always assumed that, more than many other cultures, the native American culture gives great respect for all of nature's right to be here. People are part of nature-- regardless of what nation they belong.
You tell us: what do other descendants of those who were here before the white man have to say about heritage you seem to avow as part of theirs?
The heritage that I spoke of is colorless. It is borne out of mutual respect among men (yes, persons, if you will) of all nations. I erred in labeling it "Amerrican"; it is much, much more. It is a shared heritage of all of humanity. If it is not, it should be. And, it's way past the time that we help make it.Last edited by grayfist; 10-09-2004, 12:57 AM.Comment

That's a big joke . . . . Manny said he is seriously considering going into politics after his retirement from boxing at the age of 31 but he didn't specifically said he is running for presidency.
Realistically the highest post he can target is to be a town mayor. Nothing higher than that.Comment
