[DREAM FIGHT] Jones 91' vs Norris 92'

Roy was 11-0 and had just knocked Ricky Stackhouse in 1 for his last fight at 154. The weight is a major reason I picked this version of Jones. Trying to keep the playing field as even as possible.

    Cued at 1:38

Norris was 31-3 and hot off his 4th round TKO of Meldrick Taylor. I picked this date because this was Terry's last fight at 147. Terry''s next fight would be at 154 against Lawlor.

    Tale of the Tape

    Roy Jones Jr
    Age in 1992: 23
    Height: 5'11"
    Reach: 74"
    Turned Pro: 1989

    Tery Norris
    Age in 1992: 25
    Height: 5'10"
    Reach: 68.5"
    Turned Pro: 1986

Norris has a big experience advantage while Jones has a slight height and significent reach advantage. Speed and power are very close with maybe an edge in power to Jones. Norris' chin has a crack in it whereas Jones beard is strong with no * over it.

Norris teetered at 147-154 and got a lot of fights in fast. At 3 years into his career Norris had 25 fights as compared to Jones 17.

This fight could have happened but Jones moved into 160 pretty fast. Not sure why it's never been talked about. Especially for the Jones haters, surprised hey never used this as ammunition. Norris never left 54 so this fight would have had to happen sometime in 1991 or 1992, no later.

I picked Jones, but shít --- anything could have happened.

Norris was already at 154(I think he fought his whole career there except maybe 1st few.)he just moved down to catchweight to fight Tayler. But id have to pick Jones nat bigger and also faster(and Norris was fast)also took better punch. When I run thur my mind I keep seeing early KO for Jones.

You're right. I looked at the bottom where he had a few welter goes and locked onto the last 47ish number I could find before Brown starched him. When I rush I make mistakes, out for a bit with the Missus.

          +1.

Hard to see anybody beating Jones prior to the first Tarver rematch. His crash was fast and furious after of course, but he seemed almost invincible before.

You were not really that off he always fought light for div.I remember him coming in at 51-53 a lot and that's odd nowadays with all div.I think cutoff for Talyer fight was 150 and if I remember right he was 149.

Norris was awesome. Jones was frightening, freaky power.

Yea Norris was great(don't think he beats jones at any point)but he had some of the best legs I love watching him fight. He had that bounce like young colt or even young Ali.Very good power and huge balz to help make up for shaky chin. As far as Jones and ive never seen somone that fast hit that hard.
