In My Opinion.
Hopkins has bulked up

Good article. I'm leaning toward Tarver pulling out the win and there is the factor of his power, but Hopkins has more than a chance to pull off the win. He seems to have done everything to put him in place to battle a light heavyweight. The fight has the potential to be boring but it is a compelling matchup at least on paper. I guess it depends on how much respect they show for each other and what kind of risks each one is willing to pull off to win.Comment

Look at Bernard's little pee-pee print.Originally posted by Super_Lightweight
Anyway, to get back on subject, he looks how he usually looks on the night of the fight (at middle).
Hopefully he doesn't bulk up too much after the weigh in.Comment

The major difference was that, unlike Hopkins, Tarver actually threw punches in the early rounds, and Jones is far more capable of making people miss than Taylor. Tarver missed with more punches than Hopkins threw. We think of the younger man as a rule coming on in the later rounds, but this may not be the case here. Tarver looked almost exhausted in the last round of his rubber match with Roy Jones last October while it was Hopkins who was stronger in the later rounds in both of his fights with the much-younger Jermain Taylor: I would not be too surprised to see Hopkins once again making a late charge against a tiring opponent.Comment

Sorry, I don't see it like that. When Hopkins says he wants to go out like he went in, most people think he means a "winner". But what I see is a guy who lost his last 2 fights by playing it safe. He wants to go out, if not winning, at least leaving the fight open to question. But I don't think there is any question that Tarver is coming after him looking for the beat-down. And, barring a lucky punch, I think he will get it. Hopkins has already said he is retiring and he is looking down the road at a life of luxury. I admire Hopkins as a man and tough guy, but he's not going to risk anything. He'll play it safe and take the close decision loss before he puts it on the line, balls to the wall.Comment
