Comments Thread For: Bellew's Coach Rejects Tyson Fury Fight: Never, He's Too Big

David Coldwell, trainer for former WBC cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew, rejected the idea of a future fight with former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. Bellew was scheduled to fight on December 16th at the O2 Arena in London, in a rematch with David Haye on Sky Sports Box Office. The rematch took a turn for the worse on Monday, when Haye withdrew from the fight with a injured bicep.

No way would I let Bellew in against any HW not named Haye. I think even Bellew himself admitted to it after the Haye fight. He’s dangerously undersized and will likely go back down post Haye...unless someone makes him an offer he absolutely can’t refuse money wise and even then I dont think hed bite. He would never fight Joshua, Wilder, or Fury. The money isn’t worth what it’d do to him. I like Tony a lot and he seems like a good dude. Don’t wish that on him. Pre achilles injury it wasn’t looking too good for him as it went on from what I recall.

Bellew would beat Fury, if they fought in december in Haye's place, simply because Fury is not in any fighting shape. A fit Fury yes, different story, but now he's obese. He can get fit again, but not this year.

LIke this fight was ever plausible any for Dec. All these sky hype men are pathetic. For the record I think a fat 25 stone Fury still beats Bellew.

Yeah he would be. Even an in shape Fury dwarfed Wlad. Against in Bellew's own words a fat cruiser? It would be a similar kind of KO to the Cunningham one. Fury can obviously punch his weight when he wants.

I think Bellew is cashing out vs Haye tbh. I doubt he fights anyone else. Fair enough too, he's 33-34 and that last fight is his pension. Some dangerous bastards at heavyweight and cruiser that I think he'd be **** in trouble against.
