BoxingScene Staff Predictions: Tarver vs. Hopkins

The place where Bernard Hopkins (46-4-1, 32 KOs) made his debut in 1988, Atlantic City, New Jersey, is now the same place he stages the the final bout of his career. Hopkins, spending almost 20 years in the sport of boxing, is stepping up two weight classes to challenge the recognized light heavyweight champion of the world, Antonio Tarver (24-3, 18 KOs). Hopkins will be cute thru the first half the fight and keep it close . He'll then try and steal the rounds in the second half of the fight. I don't see it. I see Tarver winning a close decision in a somewhat boring fight.

If Tarver is going to win, it has to be within the first 6 rounds. If it goes late, Hopkins taks this one.

Hopkins by decision. I should pick Tarver but I just have this feeling Hopkins is going to go all out because its his last fight.

Tarver is going to stop Hopkins IMO.
