Comments Thread For: Evander Holyfield Helps Boxing Take Major Fighter Safety Strides

By Corey Erdman - One of the most famous fighters in the history of boxing sits at the end of a long string of tables at Prime One 16 Steakhouse in East Harlem. Evander Holyfield promoted his second professional boxing show in New York City on Saturday night, a nine fight card at Resorts World Casino in Queens. Seven of his fighters fought, six of them won, and Holyfield kept good on his promise to spend time at brunch with each and every one of them, win or lose...

There is a real prize fighter if there ever was one.

Go watch the FIGHT between Bowe v Holyfield 1 and then go back and watch the farce, i mean "fight" between Klit v Tyson Fury!!!!

    Nuff said.

The real deal has always been 1 of my all time favorite fighters by far despite all the hate he's always gotten by fanbois. He was the truest definition of a champ that took nothing for granted, always in amazing shape always prepared to take on anyone & now he's still dedicated to the sport, that's truly what it means to be an all time great. Unlike these modern day cherrypicking divas who think beating bums means their entitled to everything....

Just look at him. Listen to him try and talk. That is why there needs to be more safety.

I've never been a fan of Holyfield but this is commendable what he's doing. It's hard to imagine not having health coverage as a boxer.

Simply a great fighter. One of the best of all time. He didn't have to be undefeated or have some uber long reign. You tuned in because you were about to see a man give it his all each and every time he stepped in that ring. You didn't have to like his style, his headbutts, his life outside of the ring. However, I think Holyfield "the Boxer" is deserving of respect by many.

I like what he's doing and hopefully it's just the beginning.

Agree with everything here. Good to See Tryant T in the mix, one of the few guys around longer than me.
