Thailand's Chayaphon Moonsri, 48-0 (17 KO), defends his WBC Minimumweight title against Japan's Tatsuya ***uhara, 19-5-6 (7 KO), on Friday 24th.

A win puts him on par with Rocky Marciano's 49-0 (43 KO), and one behind Floyd Mayweather's 50-0 (27 KO). Floyd himself will no doubt be having sleepless nights over this.

At Moonsri's rate of fighting he should have set a new record by summer 2018.

Agreed. Moonsri don't mess around with gimmicks like fighting MMA fighters or rely on gift wrapped decisions in his home country. Doesn't manipulate drug testing too.

Minimumweight is a weird place, with only 260 odd registered fighters on BoxRec. Moonsri has wins over many of the current top 20. At the time of contests several of them were rated in the top 10.

Makes me wonder why more don't just do this. Beat 51 cans in a row, 3 per year, or just keep rematching Kristian Laight.
