Something Just Surprised Me about Hopkins-Tarver

I know it sounds ****** but I just had this impression in my head of Hopkins being this littile Middleweight and Tarver being this Giant 7ft tall light Heavyweight who can even move up if he wants too. I dont know if its Tarver's lankyness or what but I just imagined him seeming so much bigger compared to Hopkins.

Then I see them in the press confernce and Hopkins is nearly eye to eye with him. There only one inch apart but I had this thought like they were 4 or 5 inches apart. I know the weight will be a big deal but now Im going with Hopkins to win this. I think he will come in with some nice weight & muscle on him since he's been working with that littile guy who is great at putting weight on.

I dont know why but I just had this picture in my head of Tarver towering over him and just throwing the jab on him all night followed by the big straight left coming down at Hopkins but in reality he doesnt have much of a height advantage.

Add to that Hopkins just got me hyped when they were faced to face yesterday and he brought the streets to Tarver. I loved in when he told him "you scared". The way he said it got me boosted and if anyone heard it then they know what I mean. Then he told him "you out of character, Hollywood". Basically saying dont try to act street when your more of a flashy Hollywood type.

Im wanting to see this fight more & more now and Im looking for Hopkins to pull of the upset. I am also interested to see if Hopkins goes back to the old days when he was a straight beast. Im talking about the Keith Holmes, Antwan Echols days when he use to come straight at you, rough you up and just set his will on you. I think he will have alot of trouble beating Tarver the way he's fought recently but if he brings back the rugged street fighting Hopkins then he will make this a exciting fight.

I think people will be surprised by how big and cut Hopkins looks. Kind of like when RJ went to HW. After this fight I think Hopkins will be so excited and will wonder why he never moved up before. Then I think he will fight either Jones or Calzaghe and maybe both to finish his career

According to boxrec it is a 1" height difference. If the old school Hopkins of 5 years ago were in the fight, I'd give Tarver no chance. But the Hopkins that gave away 2/3rd of each fight to Taylor, I don't like his chances. Tarver will lay on more of a beating than Taylor ever could.

Can Hopkins turn back the clock? That's the intrigue that might make me pay to watch the fight - to watch the legend, Hopkins. Otherwise, you would have to pay me to watch Tarver. I like confidence and showmanship, but only when it's backed up with a spectacular in the ring record.

i think tarver has turned back the clock. in the taylor fights, hopkins kinda seemed afraid. he already was at legendary status and had lost his 20 defenses streak, so he really had nothing to prove or push for in that second fight. Now he is pushing for history, and he looks SOOO strong. i was shocked when i first saw him. he looks like 2 hopkins!!! He has everything in the world to fight for, and he wont give up at anything.

I actually see this fight as being a pretty good fight. it'll prolly start out really boring, but it'll get REALLY exciting in the 6th or 7th rounds. thats my prediction. Im gettin more and more excited that i decided to buy this fight!

now that pretty much everyone is picking Hopkins, I don't see how him winning would be an upset. I'm thinking about picking Hopkins myself but having trouble going against my boy the Legend Killer.

ur a fan of tarver? i think ur the only one on this forumn. lol. cong****!

And its still an upset, but everyone thinks that an upset from hopkins is possible. i think a lot of people think tarver could win also, but hopkins winning is not even close to being out of the picture.

I see tarver winning by KO if he attacks like he used to. if we see the taylor hopkins, then he'll just straight up win

Yea id say its split 50/50 but Im leaning toward Tarver. The biggest question in this fight will be how is Tarvers stamina?

Based on Hopkins last two fight i hard for him to beat big guy now. He is 41 and just need a paycheck and a hall a fame thing he has no reason to win mentally but as for Tarver he has all the skeptics and boxing critcs thinking he is worthless boxer and just won Jones after his prime. Tarver is here to stay for couple of year but Hopkins is leaving.

as pyshical part Tarver is bigger even for a light heavyweight. Hopkins last two match with Talyor was a close range tug battle and he cant do the same with Tarver.
