I would say it began around the Judah fight and ended with the Trout fight. That said, past prime Cotto is still a helluva f.cking fighter

I don't know when it began but I think he slid down after the Pac fight. Roach definitely reinvigorated him so that's a factor, but it's not like he returned to prime.

According to Floyd fans December of 2011 until June of 2012 but in reality it was probably between 2006-2008. Margarito's plaster wraps beat the prime out of him. He looked slightly diminished in the Clottey and Pacquaio fights. The Pacquaio fight beat the elite out of him.

He had good skill, heart and intelligence that meant he remained a factor post 2009 but he was no longer one of the best fighters in the sport.
