NEW YORK John David Jackson never believed Sergey Kovalev was serious about hiring Virgil Hunter as his new trainer. Kovalev revealed before choosing Abror Tursunpulatov as Jackson's replacement that he was considering working with Hunter, who helped prepare Andre Ward to defeat Kovalev twice. Hunter had expressed interest in becoming Kovalev's trainer, despite all of the bad blood between their camps before and after the former light heavyweight champion's two losses to Ward.

Well Kovalev surely must have paid Jackson top dollar. How else can one explain how Jackson put up with these conditions for so many years?

So weird. Jackson implies that Kovalev wants to train on his own terms. Surely that must have been the way Jackson wanted it also. How else can you explain that he stayed as trainer for so many years?

And finally Jackson is implying that Kovalev underpays his trainer. Something just doesn't add up. I mean if Jackson was unhappy with both the pay and the way things ran in camp, then why the hell did he stay for so long?

Seems to me this is somehow the sourest of g****s. Salty af.

why is jackson so butt hurt over this? if kov have bad habits and is not who people think he is, then why is jackson making such a big deal about this? kov havent even spoke of anything towards jackson after the split.
