Well he certainly respected it enough to not work the body in their first fight

He makes a good point. He showed some respect. Next time he will maul him like a lion. Canela ran all fight and when a fighter is trying to survive its hard to KO them.

Reasonable comment. He's had a full fights feel of the power early power, mid rounds power, late rounds power. Are you new to Boxing?

It's very reasonable that a fighter doesn't know exactly what the others power, strengths and weaknesses are until they have been in the ring with them. Only a casual would deny that.

oh im not new to boxing...hardly

i just find the notion funny that one(anyone)thought canelo was a superpuncher at 160 prior to the fight....the commenter made it seem as if golovkin was under this impression....based off what?

cmon man...what did canelo ever do give anyone the impression he was a big puncher? he couldnt take out chavez.....golovkin has been in with lemiuex and jacobs...both hit harder

i understand your point.....but i think the comment is still ridiculous...i do realize you have to respect an A level fighters power until you taste it a few times.....but there was more than enough time for golovkin to realize he was ok and then do his work...he just didnt do the work his fans thought he was going to and they are looking for excuses

He's a professional prize fighter who has won multiple fights by KO.

I think he did well in there. The opponent was a bit more defensive than perhaps anticipated and he'd never felt the power and there's no way of knowing how the counters would feel. Lemieux isn't really a counter puncher.

Styles make fights. He's had a look at Canelo and a feel of him for 12 rounds. He also got a raw deal on the draw so probably feels he'll have to do something differently. Again, not an unreasonable comment and certainly not thread worthy.
