  • Comments Thread For: Hearn: Golovkin Can Fight Jacobs Next if No Canelo Rematch

Eddie Hearn hopes Billy Joe Saunders defeats David Lemieux on December 16. Despite his contentious relationship with Frank Warren, Saunders' promoter, Hearn knows Saunders would welcome a trip to Brooklyn to battle Daniel Jacobs, as long as the money is right. If Lemieux wins, Hearn suspects it'll be more difficult to get him to fight Jacobs next.

Any thing to get away from the mandatory in Jermall Charlo. Lions Only! Still won't rematch Jacobs, I bet.

You can wait for the Sanders vs Lemieux winner or you can go after Charlo. I don't know why they are not talking about that fight.

I actually like that fight more than the Canelo or Charlo fight, but let Golovkin get his mandatory done against Charlo is April, let Jacobs beat the Saunders/Lemieux winner in May and they can meet in the Fall

Saunders has a limited fanbase and Jacobs fanatics are rarely heard so they'd have a tough job selling that one.

"So again, we wanna be in control of our own destiny."

How can you make this comment right after acknowledging that your team is in fact, not in control of either fight happening? The winner of BJS v. Lemieux isn't going to blow money by fighting Jacobs first, when there's a nice payday waiting in September against Canelo or GGG. Expect Andy Lee or Martin Murray to fight the BJS v. Lemieux winner until Canelo or GGG frees up.

Hearn talks a lot of nonsense when you pay attention. If Jacobs wants one of the guys he mentioned, the chances of getting anything in the works before January is very unlikely. If he reallly wanted a good scrap he could call Charlo or Derevyanchenko, but we know that won't happen. Despite a win against either would significantly increase pressure from fans for a Jacobs shot. When you look at it, Danny isn't in a great spot.

The winner of that fight isn't going to fight Danny and he's not a mandatory for anybody. They know that. This is wishful thinking. He needs to go get Charlo or Derevyanchenko

Charlo is ahead of Danny on the WBO, WBC, and IBF rankings. Murata is ahead of him on the WBA rankings too.

Jacobs look he'll be going the way of the HBO cupcake tour. Expect a fight with Murray, maybe Rosado, throw in Monroe Jr, and top it off with Curtis Stevens. Call it Another Battle for Brooklyn.
