Comments Thread For: Carl Frampton: Leaving The McGuigans Was The Right Decision

CARL FRAMPTON knows what the reaction will be if he fails to make it back to the top. "If this part of my career doesn't go right people are going to say, You shouldn't have left the McGuigans'," he said. "I know exactly what they are going to say but, for me now and how I am with boxing at the moment, it was the right decision to make.

Damn.... them sound like fighting words. Barry whispered into Carl’s ears at night... “I will protect you from Rigo and rinse the narrative that he is a bore and doesn’t do anything financially...”

Years later Rigo is fighting for the #1 p4p spot and Carl’s net worth has no relation in daring to be great.

Same goes for Santa Cruz. Sorry, PBC.... Roc got this!

The McGuigan's are quite narrow-minded in their view. I also think they take a massive percentage off fighters. Shane McGuigan is not a good trainer. He can learn his trade at Domestic and European level, but Elite level? Hell no. He will hinder George Groves too.

Apparently they were skimming loads of money off fighters and Frampton found out, hence the split.

Was it from previous rosters and Franpton didn’t trust the ongoing relationship or Frampton was schemed as well, or Carl’s mgmt didn’t want to be associated around it?

I heard that it was from Frampton too, but obviously i don't really know. Those are the rumours which is why their relationship come to an end suddenly.

There was something shady about his last fight not taking place either. He never made weight, then his opponent pulled out the day before with some freak "shower accident" and then the next week Frampton has ended his business and working relationship with them.

Frampton wasn't just signed to them, he was a business partner at Cyclone and then he dissolved his business relationship with them suddenly. If they were skimming money, then either they were doing it to him or he didn't wanna be part of a business that were doing it to other fighters.

He got fleeced as well. McGuigans are crooks who live like celebrities.

Yeah I thought it was odd to just remove himself as director from a profitable business. It makes you wonder if they’re doing something untoward and he wanted to wash his hands of it.

Then again he maybe just wanted a clean break from everything.

Who knows. There seems to be more to it than just wanting a clean break though.

If that was it, he would say it but when he's done interviews with the likes of IFL, they have hinted at not talking about it as it's a sensitive issue, which means it goes deeper than just wanting a clean break and probably not talking about certain aspects for legal reasons.
