I just want to put it in perspective. I think we can say the general buying power of an average German person is more or less similar to a person in the US.
The Klitschko's drew 10 mio per fight and received a flat fee of 3 mio EUR per fight from RTL.
Abraham drew 5-7 mio in his prime and got paid around 1 mio EUR per fight, so I assume the fee for Sauerland has been around 1.5 mio EUR.
Obviously, these fights have not been on Pay TV but free TV and the stations got their money back by selling advertisment spots in between rounds and so on.
I assume companies pay similar money in Germany and the USA for a reach of e.g 1.5 million people, 5 million people, etc. That makes me really wonder how Top Rank can finance the bigger shows, because I can't imagine ESPN paying more than let's say 300.000-500.000 USD per show.
Anyway, I'm happy for TR if these numbers can be considered good numbers in the US.Comment

The lead in programming is important. Boxing itself cannot stand on it's on. Boxing needs lead in programming. If boxing followed Game of Thrones on HBO it would get 5 million viewers. If Beterbiev or Ramirez were to fight next week these numbers would be cut in half if the lead in programming wan't highly rated. Spence got 6 mil following USA olympic basketball. His next fight got 300kComment
