Comments Thread For: Joshua Hopes Wilder, Parker Wins Gets His Name Near Ali, Tyson

He feels being a holder of the WBC, WBO, IBF and WBA titles would make him an ATG.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/box...ike-Tyson.html

Anthony Joshua believes becoming the first heavyweight in history to hold all four world title belts would put him alongside the likes of Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson in the pantheon of boxing greats.

Joshua became the unified champion in April when he added the WBA strap to his IBF title with victory over Wladimir Klitschko in only his 19th professional contest.

Following victory over Carlos Takam last month, the unbeaten 28-year-old is on a collision course with WBO king Joseph Parker and WBC champion Deontay Wilder.

AJ claims holding all four world titles would put him alongside Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson

And Joshua claims victory over the other two belt holders would put him alongside the best heavyweights in history – including The Greatest of all.

'One hundred per cent because we have done something credible, tangible and we have the assets to prove it. I always say the proof is in the pudding,' he told Dubai Eye 103.8.

'When I negotiate the fight, once it's done, I'll announce it. I don't like to talk about "I'm this, I'm that" when I haven't got it. So once I have it and I'm on the journey, say the fight is a week away, I'll say: "I'm on the verge of mentioning my name alongside the greats like Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.

'At the minute, I'm a prospect and I know what the future holds but I'll just a keep a lid on it for now because we still have so far to go.'WBC champion Deontay Wilder is widely considered the biggest threat to AJ's supremacy

Another mega-fight on the horizon for the unbeaten world champion is a domestic dust-up with former unified champion Tyson Fury.

The self-styled 'Gypsy King' has been in the gym this week as he eyes a return to fighting fitness following two years away from the sport.

'I wish Tyson Fury the best,' Joshua said. 'It'll be great to see him back... it's a fight that people want to see and provided he's back it's a fight I'll make happen.'

Britain's Lennox Lewis is the last undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, having held the WBC, IBF and WBA titles between 1999 and 2000.

But the WBO strap has since become a recognised world title belt, too, meaning Joshua can surpass everyone and hold four belts with victory over Wilder and Parker

      He does have a point.

Him being the first HW to hold all 4 belts would be a historical achievement just like Ali being the first 3 time HW champion and Tyson being the youngest HW champ ever are.

He'd be on the level of Tyson for sure, but Tyson isn't anywhere near Ali's level

He beat an old Wladimir Klitschko, got dropped in the process. His resume is weak, and beating Joseph Parker and wilder does not make you an all time great. To say a guy who’s been pro for 4 years and has 1 name on his resume is 2 wins away from being an all time great comparable to Ali and Lewis is laughable and shows the problem with forums.

Maybe Tyson but not Ali. Wilder is a bum and Parker is average. He'd have to dominate impressively for years to be considered a top 10 all-time.

He didn't say it'd make him an ATG, he basically said he would have done something nobody else before him did, just like Ali and Tyson. And he's right about that.
