He was even honest to say in the fight hype interview weekend before Cotto that he need a 1-2 years to go to 160. That was a 25 year old Nelo talking. Time flies fast.

Alvarez is an evenly distributed weight boxer. I think he will bottle at 175 when he is 32. That will be 6 weights journeyed for Alvarez, and even then I don’t see his power doing any effect to the more natural sizes LHWs when the time comes. He just had trouble with a 168 fighter in GGg.

Tyson had massive legs as did Tua. That’s where a lot of the power comes from. The more heavy their legs to better they can plant their upper body movement with massive power.
when has ggg been a 168 fighter??? canelo is the guy who fought at 164 before the ggg fight. more strange statements.

Tyson and Tua were big punchers, but what about Hearns, Roger Mayweather, Danny Jacobs, Deontay Wilder, George Foreman, Ray Robinson and the list of thin legged devastating punchers goes on and on. Muscle mass doesn't help in boxing, it's about the snap, the twitch, you either have it or you don't, Bradley was very muscular and he couldn't punch.

Canelo was gasping for air against GGG and Chavez, he has no business adding more mass to his frame, it'd only hurt him to try to move up to 168

Well then you should know 10% is the general rule of thumb for rehydration, beyond that the unbiased posters consider it abusing the rules. Granted it's just abusing them and it's not like they're breaking the rules so nothing you can do about it. It is what is. Personally I think same day weigh-ins are ideal.

~175-180. Smaller than against Golovkin, he trained harder for that fight (logically) and had a longer rehydration period.

No, you got the tool for it today with protein and supplement shake, even IVs. Plus in the 80s you had same day weigh in.

Golovkin was fighting at 162.5 in his early debut fights.

You think JCC Jr. Who’s the biggest “Middleweight” since its division inception would weigh in at 160 or not deal a catch if he had a hard time making 168?

Catch weight innit. U know, like Lil’G wanting Ward at 164! Should I pull up that video of GGg wanting 164 with Ward?

GGG is not a 168 lb fighter. Stop reaching

If that's the case then Hopkins must be one of the best ever Light Heavy Weights with his amazing 12 title defences

Nelo grasping for air is the dumbest observation in boxing. They’ve been saying that since when he started at light middle. If he can finish the job and go 12 with the supposed beast of 160 then stamina theory doesn’t matter. I mean look at ggg’s face compared to alvarez after the fight.
