Comments Thread For: Liam Smith: I'll Stop Williams In Very Good Fashion

LIAM SMITH has promised that his rematch with Liam Williams could get nasty. The former WBO super-welterweight champion is hoping to fight for his old belt again sooner rather than later. Smith faces Williams in a rematch on Saturday at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle with the winner in pole position to fight for the vacant title after coming out victorious in the final eliminator, exclusively live on BT Sport and BoxNation.

I'm interested in seeing how this one goes.

Williams boxed well in the first fight, he stopped Smith from getting inside and getting his shots off.
He did tire though and Smith started to have success and pull his way back into the fight.

They clearly don't like each other and it could be another dirty fight.

I can see why Williams is the slight favourite, but i wouldn't be surprised to see Smith force a late stoppage.

Good post. I totally agree with you about Smith by late stoppage. Looking forward to this one.

Smith essentially needs to start where he left off and try to apply pressure earlier in the fight.

I think Williams is the better boxer of the two. He just needs to do more of the same but try to maintain it.

It wouldn't surprise me if we see a similar pattern to the first fight. Williams starting well and Smith coming on strong later but i think the way the fight goes depends on if Smith can pressure him earlier this time. I did think Williams was starting to fold a little bit once he was getting it put on him and that might not be good news if it happens again but earlier.

        It's an interesting one anyway.

beefy is good at talking smack against british level, but not at world level. He knows to pipe down, or he will look foolish. LOL. Still waiting for him to beat someone above british level.

Joe Gallagher wanted Cotto, lol, he is so deluded. What has he done to deserve a fight with a veteran. LOL. Khan and brook both would beat him easily. LOL.
