Malagnaggi fought with a broken right hand?

Did anyone else notice he said he fought with a broken hand in most of his fights? If this is true how much do you think this will help him out if any against Cotto tommorrow night!

I saw this in the Cotto Vs Malignaggi preview.

He has had hand problems. After his last fight which was on TV he said his hand was 100% and he was ready to show everyone what he has.

I don't see Malignaggi fighting too many more times because of his fragile hands. His hands don't seem capable of standing up to power punching. I wouldn't be surprised if Malignaggi retires sooner, rather than later, as a result of his hand difficulties. I don't understand why he has such brittle hands. It's possibly an issue stemming from improper healing the first time he broke it. He breaks his hand pretty much every time he throws a punch.

I read some where that he had extensive surgery on his hand and that after his last fight he felt that it wouldn't be a problem. Paulie has also accredited his low KO percentage to hand problems and says that he will have more power for the Cotto fight than people think due to his hands being healthy.

I also think that his brittle hands might be a reason that they moved him up in competition so quickly.

If saturday he decides to quit, he will likely claim a hand injury. Can't wait for saturday!!

He uses that excuse to make up for his lack of power. Since his KO percentage is low.
