Folks forget that the UFC boom didn't even start until the folding of PrideFC and a critical mass of talent was immediately allowed to be under the UFC banner. You add Strikeforce, WEC, and other smaller outfits almost immediately put into the fold and the UFC basically spent years putting on UFC vs the world matchups and rematches of fights that happened elsewhere.

Add GSP, Anderson Silva, Jon Jones and BJ Penn being 1/100 talents and novelties like Brock Lesnar choosing to fight, and you've got a cool little setup.

Dana White in boxing would have none of that; things would revert back to the days of Jens Pulver and White talking up Tim Sylvia as the best Heavyweight every, lol.

PBC was supposed to be the UFC of boxing. It turn out to be Pure Boxing Crap.

I highly doubt he finds success, with the way he "promotes" his fighters I cant see too many guys wanting to be under him. Just look at the treatment some of his champs get compared to Conor.

and there shouldnt be any detractors (there will be of course the fanboys) especially since the current promoters dont like their fighters facing each other and of course as well the HBO vs Showtime nonsense of them signing fighters to exclusive contracts (which imo PREVENTS fights from happening).

Dana would probably kill boxing even more. There is way more talent in boxing than in the UFC.

Oh man if Dana White and Haymon started working together a good portion of the boxing scene members heads would explode.

A good portion of those who hate Mayweather/ Haymon and in return any network or fighter who works with them are also all Dana White apologists and fans.

As far as my take on if it happens I think it would be great for boxing im not the biggest White fan as I think he’s nothing like he portrays himself to be but say what you will about the man but the guy can flat out promote. As far as combat sports goes he honestly might be the best and I think his persona would translate even better to boxing. Hopefully it happens cause the gate and almost boycott of anything Haymon by fans and writers alike would end the day White started being involved

If Dana was a boxing promoter he would be hyping up mismatches like it’s a gladiator battle at the Roman collusium. I could just Imagine him putting Danny Garcia vs rod salka on ppv and having a mini series talking bout “ I never seen a guy so ready to prove himself in Rod I really think Danny is getting hurt”

They do this for every ufc fight, even throwing rogan in there so the fan boys think it’s legit they have the most naive fan base out of any sport and it’s cause mma is so balbaric no one even cares as long as someone gets dropped or taps.

Depends how he jumps into it and who he works with. Look the UFC no question has a formula for building up stars that works better than Boxing that is for sure. Dana White is a charismatic guy who give great interviews who can go on every and any platform no matter the demographic and sell the UFC. This is something boxing needs!

So i'm more optimistic about it than about it compared to others who are so quick to be against it! He also has Connor McGregor to use as a selling point, then he can add more true boxing talent to it, but the Pay Scale will have to be better than the UFC that is for sure!

Hopefully none of his UFC guys wanna box lol. Those cards would be so terrible. I could see him working with haymon only if haymon was willing to make stacked cards
