AJ has been talking crap for a long time but he markets himself well. He is not a bad guy in anyway, but he is neither also this good guy that you are trying to make him be. And he is not humble - not in anyway.
He said that after he'd been criticised several times by fury. Tyson was always respectful to aj until he won a world title it all changed then and he's been **** talking non stop since.

He's obviously very humble and a decent guy but he's not perfect and I don't think he's ever claimed to be. But just because your humble that doesn't mean you shouldn't stand up for yourself. He honestly can't win. He's either a boring media puppet or he's fake

Who gives a crap if he is a decent humble guy. I watch boxing to see fists fly, not for the interviews.

Bottom line is Hearn isn't generating offers nor is he indicating he will entertain offers for a spring fight between Wilder and Joshua. That's fine. Just say that clearly, negotiate the summer showdown, then market both of their interim fights as a prequel to establishing the baddest man on the planet.

I don't dislike AJ. I prefer to see Wilder demolish him for "sport", not for any fan hatred for the guy. He seems nice, but also is very ****y and confident. I think some fan's problems is that he's presented as being a perfect good-boy who can do no wrong. However, we know that's not true. Yet many still talk about him like that. A lot of UK fighters have the words like "class" and "prestige" used as ways to describe them. So they can then come off as elitists. I don't see AJ as a perfect guy even if he's sold that way. He is ****y. But many are. I simply just prefer people to not treat Wilder like he's a bum. Wilder is one of the title holders. Wlad WAS the man. Fury BEAT Wlad. Joshua inherited the title vs Martin. Wilder got a title from Stiverne I. Neither man has claim as being THE MAN because neither beat Fury. However it's not their fault Fury messed himself up. So AJ is looked at as the next best for his lone win vs Wlad.

Wilder vs AJ would solidify the top HW right now. The winner facing Fury would solidify the top HW to begin this next generation.

You can look up my post history for all I care. I speak the truth. I know it hurts. FYI... I am Nigerian like AJ and liked him a lot until I started hearing that he is the 2nd coming of the Savior - which is just utter nonsense. He is not as technically proficient as he is made out to be but he does look like a heavyweight especially since he packed on the muscles.

I am not under any illusion about his skills. He was gifted the Olympics heavyweight title. Everyone with an eye knows that he lost that fight. I was happy for him as a countryman but not under any illusion that he won (just like I am not under any illusion that Andre Ward won the 1st fight against Kovalev).

Boxing starts with the hands. I compare what each person brings to the table. I think Wilder brings more weapons, though unorthodox. However, AJ has been marketed well and most folks want to support him to validate his Olympic credentials. He also looks the part, has a charming smile and I think he is a generally good lad. However, I don't think he is humble. Neither am I; neither is anyone on this site; Every human being is somewhere in the continuum of humility and pride.

I have always supported AJ but the hype does not match the reality. He is good and heading towards very good; but many of you make him as very good or great when he is not. Last time, they were comparing him to Lennox Lewis. I am like come on.

All I want is for them to fight. I am pretty sure that Wilder knocks him out. I am just looking forward to see what your excuses will be then!

We can agree to disagree here. AJ is not humble in my opinion; neither is he too prideful. My assessment is that he errs more on the side of pride than humility but conceals it with his smiles; but his underhanded statements show what he thinks. And I don't think there is anything wrong with that - some pride, bravado, trash talk, overconfidence, etc. It makes it all fun. What better sport to show who is better? They just need to fight. That's all.

Well said, bro! The hype is what creates the dislike for him because the hype does not match reality. His delusional fans want to sweep under the rug that he fought Charles Martin for his title. They act like he fought a huge name with great credentials. Why didn't he fight Wilder then? The same reason he is avoiding now - because he knows he will get knocked out.

I think the fight for supremacy is really between Wilder and Fury. Guess time will tell!

I’m still rooting for Wilder but AJ’s a good guy and he’s not a phony about it, don’t change

break character? AJ don't shout and talk trash unless he's selling a fight against an opponent who's riled him up. He's retorted at Whyte, Martin, Breazy.
