Comments Thread For: Arias: Jacobs Got Hearn, HBO Deals Because GGG Didn't KO Him

When Luis Arias looks up and down Daniel Jacobs' record, he isn't impressed. As Arias prepares for his own middleweight match against Jacobs on Saturday night, the undefeated fighter from Milwaukee pointed out that he believes the "overrated" Jacobs has gotten too much credit for his most noteworthy wins.

      Man makes a great point....
      Jacobs record is sketchy!!!

But part 2 of that question,
      Who have you (Arias) beat????

        is it not true???

i think its completely true and dont really have a problem with it. he got the deal cause he lost to ggg. if he had lost in 2 rounds he would have vanished but going the distance with ggg and winning some rounds is a damn hard thing to do. just look at lemieux who is rated #4 right now. couldnt do that. none of the other 8 top ten guys ggg fought could do it either besides canelo.

now that jacobs has the deal and attention he has to impress. lets be honest his top 10 resume consists of 2 losses to pirog and ggg and a 90 second win over quillin. this arias win will be a nice start but next its gotta be a guy like ryota charlo or devychenko. i hope hbo isnt just gonna let him broner/berto it until a ggg/canelo fight presents itself.

It's funny how things work. I remember how many fans on here Jacobs had when he fought ggg but those fans seem to have turned his back on him now he's signed with Hearn why is that?

That's not a fair statement at all. Jacobs won about 6 rounds in the fight. I had it 6-6 or 7-5 for GGG but that knockdown clearly edged it to GGG. No fighter in history beat top level competition by wide margin every time - Floyd lost to Castillo the first fight, Marciano had to come from behind and KO Walcott, Ali struggled against Doug Jones and Norton and Ray Robinson got smoked by The Raging Bull...

Hmmm all of the comments on this thread besides one are taking up for Jacobs. Maybe it’s just in your head
